The orphan


A young boy suffered the negative effects of a poor upbringing, and grew from an unruly youth to a rebellious teen, finally emerging as a violent young man. His criminal activities knew no bounds, and ultimately led him to murder his own parents in cold blood.
He was apprehended, and hauled before the judge, who asked him if he had anything to say in his defense. “Please your honour”, was his response, “you must deal with me with mercy, I am, after all an orphan, how can you deal cruelly with an orphan?!”
